Audition Application

Point Dance Ensemble (PDE) is a non-profit pre-professional youth dance company located in Central Wisconsin. PDE is proudly independent — it is not affiliated with any dance studio — and is committed to providing young dancers with enriching artistic opportunities beyond their home studios. PDE offers intermediate to advanced dancers the chance to expand their training, explore choreography, and perform in a variety of professional-style settings throughout the season. (Note: PDE does work our local studio schedules to ensure the company members can be active in their home studios. Many of our company members are active with their home studio's productions and competitive teams.)

What Company Members Can Expect

  • Repertoire Learning: Company members work with a range of guest artists, learning diverse pieces of choreography.
  • Performance Opportunities: Dancers participate in numerous performances during the season, showcasing a wide range of dance styles.
  • Choreographic Experience: Members have the unique opportunity to choreograph and present their own original work as part of the season.
  • Community & Collaboration: PDE emphasizes teamwork, creativity, and growth in a supportive environment.

Eligibility

  • Age Requirement: Dancers must be ages 11–18.
  • Enrollment Requirement: Must be 11 years old by July 15, 2026, or enrolled in 6th Grade for the 2026–2027 school year (whichever comes first).
  • Skill Level: Open to intermediate and advanced
  • Training Requirements:
    • Applicants must be enrolled in at least two technique classes per week (ballet, modern, or jazz) at a dance studio of their choosing.
    • Applicants must have completed a minimum of two years of ballet training.

Season Commitment

  • Mandatory Summer Intensive:
    July 13–17, 2026
    (Participation is required for all company members.)
  • Regular Season Rehearsals:
    Saturdays from September 2026 through February 2027.

Costs

  • Company Fee: $400

(This covers all rehearsals, performances, photography (headshots), guest artist classes, and costumes.)

  • Additional Costs:
    Dancers may need to purchase essentials such as:
    • Specific dance shoes
    • Black leotard
    • Nude leotard
    • Tights

PDE strives to keep additional expenses minimal and accessible for all dancers.
